New Fence Helps Make Homes Safer

Bedworth Heath Councillor, Damon Brown, welcomes new fence that aims to help cut crime and anti-social behaviour.

New fencing has been erected to help secure homes and cut crime and anti-social behaviour in the Topps Heath and Cashmore Road area of Bedworth Heath. The new, metal fence and gate backed by wooden close boarded fencing has been erected in an alley that links Topps Heath and Cashmore Road. The fencing helps eliminate a blind spot that was a magnet for vandalism in the area. It was erected after the previous fencing was burnt down when a stolen motor bike was set on fire in the alley.

Speaking about the new fence local Conservative Councillor Damon Brown, who was intrumental in resolving issues so that the new fence could be erected said,

"I am really pleased to see that this is new, substantial, fence has been put up The new metal railings and gate provides real security whilst the wooden close boarded fence provides privacy. Together they help protect the back of properties in Cashmore Road and Topps Heath. Getting this issue sorted took quite a long time because of issues surrounding land ownership and the Council had to work with the Police, Warwickshire County Council, Mercian Housing Association and homeowners to make sure a solution was put in place that satisfied all concerned. I would like to thank everyone involved for their persistance in getting this problem resolved and I would like to thank local residents for their patience at what must have been a difficult time."
