An End To Labour!

Dan Byles MP and his wife celebrate the birth of their first daughter
Dan Byles, the former soldier who became the new Conservative Member of Parliament for North Warwickshire & Bedworth in May last year, this week celebrated the end of Labour. He hasn’t done away with his political rivals! Rather he and his wife Prashanthi proudly announced the birth of their first child – a little girl.
Little Sasha Byles was born at 11.22pm last Wednesday weighing 6lbs 6ozs, and both mother and daughter are reported to be doing extremely well.
As a Member of Parliament, Dan spends Mondays to Thursdays away from his family, living in London and working in the House of Commons in Westminster . Worried that his wife Prash might go into labour alone in the middle of the night while he was in London , the couple made the decision to have their baby in St Thomas ’ Hospital in London , which happens to overlook the Houses of Parliament. The MP’s daughter ended up being born in sight of Big Ben just across the river.
Speaking after the birth, Dan said:
“Prash and I are delighted to announce that our beautiful daughter Sasha, who is our first child, was born last Wednesday weighing just under six and a half pounds. It was an incredible and emotional evening, and we were fortunate that there were no complications and Sasha was born relatively quickly.
“Anybody who has children will know that the birth of your first child is a life-changing experience. Holding such a tiny bundle of life on that first evening – warm and fragile and utterly dependent on Prash and I for everything she needs to thrive – was indescribable. In one evening, my entire life changed and will never be the same again.”
Dan Byles is now on official paternity leave for two weeks, but his constituency office in Bedworth is still operating and he continues to manage some constituency work from home in between changing nappies.
