Conservatives Cleaning up in Bedworth

Your Conservative Councillors for Bedworth Heath, Barry Lobbett and Damon Brown, have welcomed improvements to litter collection. Local Conservatives promised that if they took control of the Council they would do a better job to make Bedworth a cleaner place to live.
Litter collection teams have been re-organised so they can do a better job, more money has been invested in the service, and most residential streets are now litter picked twice a month. This is twice as often as when Labour controlled the Council. On top of that some areas, near to the Town Centre for instance, are now litter picked daily.
People living on newly built housing estates are also benefiting from the improved litter picking service. Under Labour un-adopted roads on newly built estates were generally untouched but, since late last year, these are now included in the litter picking service.
That said we are still looking to make further improvements to the service and aim to litter pick all streets at least once a week.
Speaking about the improved litter collection service, Councillor Barry Lobbett said,
"This is a big improvement for Bedworth. Litter is something that really drags down the appearance of an area and, if unchecked, encourages increased mess and anti-social behaviour. As Conservatives, we are keen to deliver improved services that people want and keep the Council Tax as low as possible. It's a real achievement that we are now able to litter pick the streets twice as frequently as under Labour."
If you see litter in your street that needs attention please contact the Council on 02476 376376 and the litter picking team will arrange clean it up.
