Conservative Party Chairmen Visit Coventry's Ricoh Stadium
Three members of Bedworth Conservatives were amongst an audience of 70 or so Conservative Party members who attended a Meet the Chairmen event at the Ricoh Stadium in Coventry recently.
Joint party Chairmen Baroness Sayeeda Warsi and Andrew Fieldman chatted with members and supporters and answered questions in a relaxed atmosphere, They explained their roles as joint Chairman - Baroness Warsi doing the political stuff and Andrew Fieldman looking after the organisation.
The pair gave refreshingly frank and honest answers to questions, expalining, for example, how and why changes at the Conservative Party HQ have to be made. Other topics covered in the Q and A session included the Co-alition Government, a Review of Candidate Selection procedures and improving the Membership experience.
The three Bedworth members, John Carolan, Janet Batterbee and Cllr. Damon Brown agreed the event was worthwhile. Commenting afterwards Damon said, 'My overall impression was that this was a real attempt by the Chairmen to talk with the grass-roots members and supporters and not just some box ticking exercise. They both seem genuinely committed to making the Conservative Party more accessible and more attractive to people across the country.'
